The awards, which have crowned Saunderson House winners for the third year in a row, champion financial services companies that exceed customary levels of business practice, standards of service and culture and social responsibility.
Judges measured contenders against a rigorous set of criteria, to award those with demonstrably excellent financial strength, service, trust, capability and fair value.
Commenting on the decision to award us the accolade for Independent Financial Advice, the judges explained Saunderson House’s winning approach:
“The combination of business ethics, professionalism and quality of service is extremely impressive. Saunderson House demonstrates the benchmark in technical excellence for advice given and reporting.
Saunderson House operates a culture that stems from taking great pride in how they are perceived as a firm, which is a result of having a very clear understanding of their clients’ needs. Highly qualified advisers working in teams; high quality research; high quality management and processes, alongside a simple remuneration basis – Saunderson House understands advice doesn’t have to be complicated to be good; it just needs the right people and the right structure to do it extremely well.”
Philip Courtenay, Head of Marketing Strategy at Saunderson House, collected the trophy. He commented: ‘’I am delighted that Saunderson House has been recognised with this prestigious award for trust, fairness and excellence in financial services. These are elements which are core to our client service.’’
The 2016 awards, which have been running for 14 years, were presented by Sir David Amess MP at the House of Commons on 16 November and celebrated with a drinks reception.
Describing this year’s awards, Deborah Benn, Chair of the Judging Panel said: “A backdrop of economic uncertainty following the Brexit decision has not been easy for entrants as they focus on the impact going forward. So those entrants who have made it through the process should be congratulated on passing what has been a very stringent year in terms of judging. A common thread of those that have achieved Gold Standard status is the clarity of their proposition and, importantly, how processes and services are developed and adapted to fit clients’ needs rather than shoehorning clients into inflexible structures. There was also a strong sense of social responsibility present in this year’s batch of entries, which impressed the judges.”
