Job Title: Investment Analyst

Reports to: Investment Director

 

1. Role Specification

Key Purpose of Role

To work as part of the Investment Research Team developing and delivering asset allocation and fund selection recommendations to the firm’s high net worth clients via the firm’s advisers or directly.

Main Duties

Client Service Delivery (Value – Make it Happen)

  • To play a part in developing and communicating, in written form, views on the economy, investment outlook and asset allocation recommendations for client reports
  • To undertake fund research to produce recommendations on collective investments such as OEICs, unit trusts and investment trusts
  • To work on occasional analysis of other financial assets, such as equity and structured products

Achieve Good Client Outcomes (Value – Lead from the Front)

  • To meet with fund managers and write up formal research notes and recommendations
  • To attend internal, client and prospect meetings

Compliance Framework, Oversight and Deployment (Value – Thinking with Purpose)

  • To assist in the update and review of internal policies, procedures and registers and undertake
    any appropriate analysis
  • To assist with the ongoing review of the adequacy and effectiveness of existing systems and
    processes and procedures to ensure that they remain effective.
  • To assist the business with FCA related compliance queries
  • To assist the Director of Risk & Compliance and the Head of Compliance with ad hoc tasks as
    required.

Working as a Team (Value – Working Together)

  • To brief internal advisers
  • To answer queries from advisers on economics and funds
  • To supervise two/three junior members of the team

2. Person Specification

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Graduate and working towards or have completed CFA or equivalent
  • Experience and demonstrable success in investing
  • Knowledge/qualifications in financial planning desirable
  • Advanced user of Excel, Word, Datastream
